DRY, BOLD, AND PERFECT FOR CHARCUTERIE.
Sopra Sotto was named to give you a hint of what we want you to eat it with, so do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some aged cheeses and cured meat or nuts. Sopra Sotto is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, the most widely-grown grape in the world. Cabernet is native to Bordeaux, but it made its way to Italy in the 1960s when winemakers embraced it as a grape to stand on its own or be blended with local varieties.
Sopra Sotto is dry, medium-bodied with integrated tannins and a bouquet of cherry, currant, and cedar.
WINE FROM THE LAND OF TAGLIATELLE.
The northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna is not only known for making refreshing local white wine, but also for some of the most famous pasta styles in the world. From tortellini to tagliatelle, to lasagna, there’s a reason that the region has been called the food capital of Italy. This region is also known for swoon-worthy Proscuitto di Parma, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and balsamic acetaias on every corner. It’s what red-wine dreams are made of.
DON’T KNOW WHAT TO EAT? WE GOT YOU.
Sopra Sotto was made for Italian dishes, but you can also venture outside of the boot for some delightful pairings. Some ideas to get you started are tomato tortellini, pepperoni calzones, black bean burgers, and jollof rice. Yum!
